Accelerating Discoveries in India with AI in Science and Education

Google DeepMind launches the National AI Partnerships initiative in India, aiming to leverage technology for the benefit of all humanity. This requires strategic collaboration between AI labs, governments, and society.

As part of this initiative, Google is establishing a new partnership with Indian government institutions to expand access to advanced AI capabilities. India is demonstrating leadership in applying technology to address its key challenges, including organizing the fourth global AI summit.

The partnerships are aimed at accelerating progress in science and education. Google DeepMind is collaborating with the National Research Foundation of India (ANRF) to implement AI models such as AlphaGenome and AI Co-scientist, which will assist scientists and researchers.

The AlphaFold system, which predicts the structure of proteins and DNA, is already being used by over 180,000 researchers in India. We hope that Indian scientists will gain more benefits from the new AI systems.

At the summit in India, the Google.org Impact Challenge: AI for Science was announced, with a prize pool of $30 million for researchers and non-profit organizations using AI for scientific breakthroughs.

According to a recent survey, education is the primary motivation for using AI in India. Schools like City Montessori School in Lucknow are integrating AI into the learning process, leading to positive outcomes.
