AI in Healthcare Brings Significant Profit, According to Research

Artificial intelligence is actively transforming healthcare, covering areas such as radiology, drug development, and medical device manufacturing. The second annual NVIDIA report "The State of AI in Healthcare and Life Sciences" shows that the industry is moving from experimentation to real implementation of AI, reaping profits from core applications such as medical imaging and drug discovery.

According to the report, 70% of respondents reported that their organizations are actively using AI, which is a 7% increase compared to 2024. 69% are using generative AI and large language models, which has also increased from 54%. 82% of respondents noted the importance of open-source software and models for their organizations' AI strategies.

85% of executives stated that AI contributes to revenue growth, while 80% reported cost reductions. "In the next 12-18 months, the most noticeable impact of AI will be related to optimizing logistics and administrative processes," noted John Nosta, president of NostaLab.

The application of AI is growing across all segments of healthcare, including digital health, pharmaceuticals, and medical technologies. Digital health has become the leader in AI adoption, with 78% of respondents using AI in their work.

AI helps healthcare organizations enhance the efficiency of their core competencies, which is supported by strong ROI. 57% of respondents from the medical technology sector reported profits from implementing AI in medical imaging, while 46% of respondents from pharmaceuticals indicated successful use of AI in drug development.
