Microsoft Sovereign Cloud Enhances Security and Support for AI Models
In the context of digital sovereignty, organizations are re-evaluating their approaches to deploying critical infrastructure and AI solutions, considering stricter regulatory requirements and increased risks. Microsoft's approach to sovereignty is focused on ensuring the security and independence of enterprises, the public sector, and regulated industries in the digital economy.
Microsoft Sovereign Cloud combines productivity, security, and cloud workloads, covering both public and private environments. Customers can choose the appropriate level of control for each workload, avoiding architectural fragmentation and increasing operational risks.
To support confidential environments, Microsoft offers a full stack of capabilities, including operations in connected, intermittently connected, and fully disconnected modes. Recent updates include three key aspects: Azure Local disconnected operations, which allow organizations to manage critical infrastructure with policy control without cloud connectivity.
Microsoft 365 Local disconnected operations enable the use of core workloads, such as Exchange Server and SharePoint Server, entirely within the client's sovereign operational boundary, ensuring productivity even when disconnected from the cloud.
Foundry Local adds modern infrastructure capabilities and support for large AI models, allowing organizations to deploy large AI models in fully disconnected sovereign environments.
Sovereign Private Cloud combines Azure Local, Microsoft 365 Local, and Foundry Local, offering modern infrastructure and support for large AI models within any operational boundary, providing a localized working experience.
