Adobe launches Firefly AI Assistant to streamline Creative Cloud workflows
Adobe has unveiled its new AI assistant, Firefly, designed to manage complex workflows across its Creative Cloud suite through a single interface. This solution aims to enhance content creation efficiency by allowing users to describe desired outcomes in natural language, after which the assistant determines the necessary tools and executes tasks in the appropriate order.
The Firefly AI Assistant is the culmination of the Moonlight project, first introduced at the 2025 MAX conference. The assistant encompasses around 100 different tools, enabling image and video generation, precision photo editing, and layout adaptation. It also supports context-aware decisions based on user preferences and content type.
Adobe emphasizes that the Firefly AI Assistant is not just another update, but a fundamental shift in creative work approaches. The assistant learns from user preferences and can perform multi-step tasks, such as portrait retouching or social media asset generation, all from a single command.
A key aspect is that outputs are saved in native Adobe formats, allowing users to refine their work in corresponding applications at any time. The Firefly AI Assistant is set to enter public beta in the coming weeks.
Regarding monetization, using the assistant will require an active Adobe subscription, which has drawn interest from investors. The company notes that the cost of use will depend on existing generative credits, aligning with the current Firefly model.
